You will learn fundamental web, prepress and graphic design principles , typography, colour theory and industry standard software - Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash ( Adobe Creative Suite ).
CUV40311 - Certificate IV in Design is the pathway to CUV50311 - Diploma of Graphic Design and a rewarding career in Graphic Design. It includes aspects of illustration, multimedia, and animation. There is a high rate of employment in the industry because of the demand for multi-skilled, tech savvy designers.

What job opportunities will I have?
Junior Graphic Designer in a design studio.
Successful graduates will be eligible for direct entry into CUV50311 - Diploma of Graphic Design.
Do I need to have prior knowledge or work experience?
- It is recommended that people entering this qualification either possess CUV30311 - Certificate III in Design Fundamentals, or some creative and design skills.
- Completion of Year 12 (pass in English and Art) or relevant experience in the design industry.
Required computer literacy skills include :
- a good understanding of the Mac or Windows environment
- knowing how to make a digital file, save a file, and find it again
- being able to logically organise files in directories
- using the Internet to find information, send emails, open and save attachments and pictures
- simple text skills, for example, typing up an assignment with basic formatting, and printing it out
- visual skills : ideally you will have an interest in and appreciation of design, type and art and/or be skilled in drawing, layout and colour.
What can I study after this?
On successful completion of the Certificate IV in Design you will further your education with the 12 month Diploma of Graphic Design at Red Hill, Ithaca Campus in Brisbane .

How much will it cost?
This course will cost approximately Full Fee$1,964/Concession Fee $1,172
Students studying On Campus are required to pay a $40 Admin Fee at time of enrolment, valid for one calendar year.
This is a government funded program, and concessions may be available for eligible students. Refunds will only be provided after enrolment if requested prior to start of study, unless exceptional circumstances exist.
IMPORTANT: Fees listed above are available for QLD residents who are paying for their own fees. Contact us for international, non-QLD resident and corporate (employer-pays) fees for this program.
