This program covers the competencies required for independent and self-directed work in the Queensland State public service. The program is particularly suited to those working in an environment where there is a range of responsibilities which are diverse rather than narrowly specialised and/or work in a small or regionally based organisation.

The responsibilities of the enrolled nurse include :

  • assisting clients with the routine activities of daily living
  • recognising the changing needs of clients
  • performing assigned and delegated functions from the nursing care plan.

The enrolled nurse monitors the impact of nursing care and maintains ongoing communication and provides support and comfort.

On successful completion of this course, students are eligible to apply for registration with Qld Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse with medication endorsement RN (Med).
