This course will encourage you to gain an understanding of the basic theory and practical knowledge of interior decoration to enable you to achieve the desired results in the decor of a home or office. This course is intended to develop further your knowledge and understanding of the principles of interior decoration with particular emphasis on its practical aspects.

You must successfully complete Interior Decoration Level 1 before enrolling into Level 2.

Students in this course will study a range of topics that include:
• ergonomics in the home
• energy saving
• colour in the home and how to use it effectively
• a practical approach to interior lighting
• practical planning, ideas and solutions from house to house, a practical transformation
• decorating techniques, paint and paper
• perspective drawing for decorators
• furniture through the ages, a brief illustrated historical survey.

• colour theory and decorating with colour
• psychology of colour

• window treatment
• fabrics and wallpaper
• furniture
